| I almost lost my whole family's lives
On last Saturday, I have to check my wheel alignments at Cockpit (Srinakarin) before the long drive to upcountry. During the check-up, the technician found a malfunction joint part and replaced it with a new one. Everything seem so fine and smooth, until the car reached the express-way. At low speed, there happened to be some click click click sound from the suspension system. I stopped the car immediately and checked, nothing was wrong...so I kept on driving for the clicking sound disappeared. As I reached Lotus Bangmod, the road turned bumpy and the clicking clicking clicking sound happened again. This time, it made noice only when I release the acceleration padel, and the sound goes off when I hit the brake...so I decided to stop again and check. Still, nothing strange had been found. Not until I decided to stopped at a Bridgestone service center at Bangkae and asked the technician head to inspect my suspension system from a raised platform. He informed me that nothing was wrong with the suspensions. So, we lowered the car to the ground level and then he noticed the gap between the disc brake and the front wheel. This gap brings about a decision to test fastening the bolts, so he took the tool and start to check. Then, the root cause was found. Out of the 5 bolts in the front right wheel, there was not a single bolt being tightened. I do not know which temple or monk I prayed to, but something told me to stop at Bridgestone Service Center in Bangkae ahead. I got a feeling that I should not continue the drive. Things may turned out to be disasterous if the wheel went off at my driven speed of 110Km/Hour. My family or even myself could be writing this message from hell/heaven. This is my experience with the wheel service center, so, I hope people who read this message can take this as a warning to self-check your own bolts and other important fasteners. I do not and cannot blame the Cockpit Service center about their quality, for I do know very well that it is also my responsibility to double check by myself before receiving the car from the technician.... |
